Luke O'Malley

Co-founder of Semgrep. Previously Palantir and MIT.

I co-founded Semgrep, where I grew and led Design and Product Management. I love developer tools and developer experience: making powerful software fast, familiar, and delightful.

Before Semgrep, I worked at Palantir on tools supporting U.S. counterterrorism programs and at the Air Force Research Laboratory on deep-space propulsion. I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT.

I invest in and advise generational founders and teams, like Partiful and Chalk AI. Away from tech, I am a California-licensed bartender and serve as Vice Commodore of the all-volunteer South Beach Yacht Club.

Architectural ink and watercolor drawing of a lounge chair, circuit lines, and a rocket
A throughline in my work is an obsession with making things work well and feel wonderful to use. I care about products that are beautiful on the outside and the inside: clear in the interface, coherent in their architecture, and useful enough to endure.
